From Time Out Dubai Eating Out 2009
There is something innately comical about a German beer house in Dubai. With the oom-pah music, rotund German clientele and large, steaming plates of bratwurst, it’s difficult to imagine a more out-of-place restaurant in Dubai than Hofbrauhaus.
Be warned, portions are enormous here, and the hearty, meaty fare is a bit heavy for the summer months, though thoroughly comforting in winter.
We recommend the rindergulasch, an achingly tender beef stew. Also lovely is the leberkase, a dense meatloaf topped with a fried egg, and resting on a bed of buttery, expertly salted spinach.
Desserts are decent, though given the sheer mass of food offered up in the mains, it might be best to give the confections a skip.
