If you’re after an intimate venue for some romancing, you can’t get much better than Barça Club. Hidden in an apartment building on The Palm with no signage, you will be unsurprised to find a near-deserted restaurant.
But its secluded location actually conjures an exclusive vibe thanks to its tasteful, Gaudí-esque decor. A tasty amuse bouche will stave off your hunger while you peruse the menu. There’s an interesting array of dishes; mainly Spanish with French, with Italian and Moroccan influences.
Starters are more than pleasant, but you won’t have long to savour them, as the mains are whipped out and proudly placed before you. You won’t mind, though, as the steak is cooked to perfection; so tender, it glides down the throat.
The beef bourguignon is equally delicious – you will find it hard to tell the difference between the mushrooms and the beef chunks as each are soft, plump and coated in a rich, thick red-wine gravy.
On Time Out’s visit, the restaurant had only been open a month and was not yet serving desserts, as they were ‘still trying to choose the perfect selection’. We recommend you go along and judge if they have achieved their goal – not an arduous task, we think you’ll agree.
