Majlis Al Bahar - Restaurant Award Highly Commended
Pricey al fresco dining at the Burj Al Arab 1 Reviews
From Time Out Dubai Eating Out 2009
A meal at the Burj al Arab’s beach restaurant Majlis al Bahar is like something torn from the pages of a Mills and Boon novel. That’s not meant as a criticism. Even the most cynical of ‘nomantics’ will be swept up by the sound of crashing waves, the twinkling stars and the mesmerising view.
Go in the chilly-by-night months (Dec-Feband you’ll have the whole place to yourself. You may have to huddle next to a heater, but you get the undivided attention of the uber-friendly staff who will trip over themselves to bring you freshly made fruit smoothies and replace your mound of deliciously moreish homemade cheese, olive and tomato bread.
Be sure that you’re fond of your date, as the generous plate of flavoursome antipasti, a hunk of beef fillet that positively disintegrates on the tongue, and a creamy tiramisu are sure to have you declaring your undying love for them – even if it is because of your ‘food goggles’.
Amazingly for the Burj, all this is great value for money. The set menu is Dhs375 per person including a bottle of wine. At Majlis Al Bahar, money can buy you love, and, unlike the other Burj eateries, you don’t need buckets of it.
