From Time Out Dubai Eating Out 2009
Your experience at Seville’s completely depends on whether you sit inside or out. Inside, the air conditioning is unpleasantly cold, the music is so loud you have to raise your voices for conversation, and you are invisible to the waiting staff.
Outside, the atmosphere is buzzing, the staff are unfailingly friendly, and the music is pleasantly quieter. Later on, it also gets much better, as the tunes of two talented guitarists are piped through the speakers – another plus point of dining alfresco, as you won’t be put off your dinner by their chest hair.
However, whether indoors or out, the food is not great. The tapas is too covered in breadcrumbs and deep-fried to invoke feelings of Spanish dining on fresh meats and cheeses.
It’s more akin to ordering a selection of bar-food starters. The puddings are, again, mediocre. The cheesecake is more of a cheese mousse, and the coffee ice cream ordinary. If you want a good night at Seville’s book in advance; the pleasure of dining on the terrace is sure to make up for the mediocre standard of food.
