With its romantic beach setting, this spot is popular enough – particularly with couples – to make booking a wise choice.

But if you’re forced to wait for your table there’s a pleasant bar to accommodate you before your meal. Most people choose to sit outside, where a split-level wooden veranda offers views of the beach, sea and The Palm.

Inside it’s a wash of terracotta colours, comfy leather chairs by the bar and the hubbub of the chefs working in the open kitchen. The menu offers plenty of options, with seafood, steaks and a wide range of vegetarian options.

It’s not cheap – with mains invariably costing more than Dhs100 and starters weighing in at Dhs70. But you get what you pay for: the food is well presented and tasty and the service attentive – if a little slow.
