Coconut Grove
Mid-priced Indian restaurant in Satwa 10 Reviews
From Time Out Dubai Eating Out 2009
Amid the lurid pink walls, dense palm fronds and mismatched dark wooden furniture, you’ll find one of the most original curry houses in Dubai.
Serving excellent, authentic coastal dishes from Sri Lanka, Kerala, Malabar and Goa, the menu is as varied as it is long. Steer clear of the bar-snack-type starters and plunge straight into a delicious chicken xacutty with aromatic Goan spices, or a fantastic malabar meen manga curry of kingfish with mango and coconut.
Also, try an appam (rice cakeinstead of a naan to mop up your veggie side dishes. It may not have the suave decor of some of Dubai’s other Indian restaurants, but neither does it have the prices. Coconut Grove is unique in its quirkiness, and the slightly eccentric staff just add to this eclectic establishment’s charm.
