Coco's
Big portions of a wide variety of cuisines at reasonable prices Discuss this article
From Time Out Dubai Eating Out 2009
Even with Dubai’s delusions of grandeur, fine dining will never extend to the food court at Deira City Centre. However, Coco’s at least attempts to look the part.
It’s reasonably stylish, with black walls and turquoise soft furnishings. Take a seat inside so you can try to forget you’re in a mall. We would say the best thing about Coco’s is its cakes. Sat in a glass cabinet as you walk by pre-dinner, your mouth waters at the prospect of dessert.
Unfortunately, the starter and mains portions here are so huge you won’t be able to try a slice. And so, the best thing about Coco’s is the service. The staff are friendly, attentive and helpful – so much so, you may feel guilty when you can’t finish the mediocre food and might accept their offer of a doggy bag, even if you bin it as soon as you leave.
If you want a step up from a burger joint and can’t decide whether you fancy Mexican, Arabic, Indian or European, it’s a good place to stop by. Just wear an elasticated waistband if you’re determined to tackle the cakes.
