The Rotisserie
Intimate dining spot with traditional European food Discuss this article
From Time Out Dubai Eating Out 2009
Sitting in the One&Only’s Arabian Court, the Rotiserie is a riot of styles: terracotta tones and fat, fake columns greet you as you sweep in from the staircase.
A shy band plays Beatles tunes, shuffling round from table to table, while patient, polite waiters ensure you’re stocked with drinks. There’s a buffet with a distinctly Middle Eastern twist, but plenty of international options are available. It’s a cut above the usual selections – the mezze, for example, extends beyond the normal baba ganoush and mutabbal fare.
You will find the food is just that bit above the average, too – with meats and vegetable dishes fresher and better prepared than similar joints elsewhere. There’s no denying a buffet is not usually an attractive option for a night out, but the Rotiserie is very good for what it is, and – with the buffet coming in at Dhs175 per person – it’s no more expensive than many less satisfactory alternatives.
