From Time Out Dubai Eating Out 2009
Diners certainly don’t go to Teatro at the Towers Rotana for the third-floor views of Sheikh Zayed Road. But they do go, in droves, for the excellent food, great service and stylish decor.
The staff offer the expected – such as recommending dishes, and serving with a smile – and beyond; supplying you with a torch if you look like you’re struggling to read the menu in the soft light.
There is definitely a strong Oriental flavour, and we recommend you throw yourself into it by enjoying the crispy and tasty Asian sampler starter and either freshly made sushi for mains, or a generous dish of tender beef strips in a peppery sauce accompanied by a mound of noodles.
The sizzling brownie for dessert is the house special, so it would be rude not to try it, and your tastebuds will thank you for your courtesy. The East-meets-West theme is also reflected in the decor, with the reds and golds of the Orient punctuated by Roy Lichtenstein-esque theatre posters from the ’60s.
The small windows create a cosy atmosphere, and anyway, who needs a view when everything else is this good?
