From Time Out Dubai Eating Out 2009
The conundrum of hotel dining has perplexed hoteliers for many a year, but it’s still something of a surprise to think that the brave folk over at Jumeirah Beach Hotel would believe that the answer lies in a corridor.
For that is what Latitude appears to be. On entering the cavernous hotel, you have to make a sharp 90-degree turn and then try to guess precisely where you’re supposed to go.
On one side there’s seating, on the other there’s a group of assorted cooking stations and the shiny steel domes that are the hallmark of international buffets the world over. In common with most multinational dining, Latitude, has a laissez faire attitude to cuisine – with a host of self-service options.
Jostling next to biriyanis are Chinese staples, while the pasta rubs shoulders with noodles. The food is of a reasonable, but by no means exceptional, quality and it’s all good fun: wait for a moment in front of a live station and you’ll be invited to choose from a host of ingredients, quickly whipped up to your every specification.
