The Market Place’s entrance sits in the busy, noisy restaurant court of the JW Marriott, and you’ll find yourself in the hubbub of an international hotel, regardless of where you choose to sit.
It has a multiple food stations offering a panoply of treats – from pasta, Indian, roast, Arabic and other reasonable, if not exceptional foods. You may have to wait a while on busy nights for service, as there are often quite a few people waiting for their orders to be cooked, but the staff handle the crowds with good grace and humour.
The decor is typical late-era hotel: the seating overlooks the vast central atrium of the Marriott, so you can people-watch as you munch on your foraged delicacies. It isn’t, however, a cheap experience.
With the ‘simple treat’ deal weighing in at Dhs195, without beverages, you might expect a higher quality of dining experience in a more relaxed setting.
