From Time Out Dubai Eating Out 2009
There’s nothing particularly innovative about Andiamo!, making its overly enthusiastic punctuation seem a little unnecessary. What it does is serve passable Italian fare at a reasonable price. To be fair, the restaurant, hidden behind the Grand Hyatt’s indoor jungle, has more than a few well-executed staples on its menu.
The beef carpaccio, which is tender and pinkly fresh, makes for a solid opener (best to skip the scallops here, which are killed with a tad too much time on the stove. Pastas can be a bit stodgy: gnocci proves chewy where it should be airy, and an order of carbonara comes in a creamy block.
Fish, however, comes out fresh and flavoursome (the cod is always a good bet). Desserts, while satisfying, can also be a bit run of the mill. The chocolate mousse is appropriately creamy and made with decent-quality cocoa; it may not redefine the medium, but it does hit the spot.
