With its blinding zebra-striped decor, this Italian eatery makes a refreshing change from the ‘Mamma Mia’ gimmickry synonymous with most Italian restaurants.

There’s not a chequered tablecloth or poster of a garlic-toting buxom woman in sight – in fact, the staff are kitted out in the most un-Italian fashion accessory known to man: baseball caps.

Unfortunately for Bella Donna, the modern take isn’t as pronounced with the food, which sticks to fail-safe pastas and seafood dishes, accompanied by salads and garlic bread. By and large, it’s a very decent choice for a hearty Italian feast to sustain you during a jaunt to the mall, but otherwise unexciting.
