Mille Miglia
Retro decoration and Italian food on Sheikh Zayed Road 3 Reviews
From Time Out Dubai Eating Out 2009
Eat your meal among chic Italian racing retro – think velvet chairs, memorabilia, old photographs of cars and metal miniatures.
The racing paraphernalia continues with chequered mugs and motoring musings strewn around the menu. It can all get a bit much. For example, salads are described as ‘linguatronic and colortronic’ and pastas as, ‘the sports automatic gear shift’.
The idea for the restaurant was concocted by enthusiast Jocelyne Chidiac who named it after the annual 1,000-mile Italian race. If you share Jocelyne’s passion, you will love Mille Miglia, which serves up a good range of breakfasts and a long list of comfort food, like sandwiches, pastas, soups and pizza.
But even the non car-obsessed will enjoy sipping a cappuccino and reading a paper in the leafy courtyard. The perfect pit stop to escape the rat race.
