Sport is the name of the game at this Rydges Plaza institution, so expect to see screens displaying all the big match action, and there’s a reasonable, if not overly adventurous, food menu consisting of staples such as sandwiches, pizza and pies to get stuck into when hunger pangs kick in.

The Aussie wedges with cheese and bacon get the thumbs up, as does the stockman’s pie with mash; comfort food heaven. However, refrain from ordering the tapas platter; it’s really a rather wretched dish.

Any true blue Aussie would stick two fingers up at the watery dips and lacklustre-looking veggies. This hiccup aside, this shrine to all things Australian is definitely worth a punt.
