Noodle House
From Time Out Dubai Eating Out 2009
Noodle House captures the flavour of a delicious bowl of steaming noodles swimming in broth that you would enjoy in the streets of Bangkok and replaces the smog, deafening traffic, and the occasional lapse in sanitation with chic style.
Long tables flanked by benches are great for large families or groups of friends, with a few booths to one side providing a decent spot for the single diner. Once seated you can sift through a variety of fried and soup-based noodle dishes, and a few vegetarian options, buffered by various sides and appetisers.
Drinks can be selected from a long list of mocktails and iced tea fusions, and the staff are attentive and patient. An inviting bowl of chewy egg noodles, with tender slices of duck and a handful of shrimp dumplings is a recommended savoury and simple dish. If you like a bit of heat you can add slices of pickled green chilli and a splash of ginger-garlic sauce from a collection of condiments on the table.
On the side you can enjoy the zesty mapo tofu, which is blended with vegetables in a rich sweet and sour sauce. Have those chopsticks at the ready.
