From Time Out Dubai Eating Out 2009
Oud Metha and the general Lamcy Plaza area can seem like a bit of a black hole in Dubai’s eating scene. But that’s only if you don’t know about Lemongrass. Situated, rather randomly, in one of the plaza’s carparks, the eatery’s lime green signage is a shining beacon of hope for the hungry.
A past Best Independent Time Out winner, it serves fresh fruit juices (listed with their health-giving properties, fishy mains of snappers, prawns and hammour, although most of the curries also offer chicken or beef options. The place has a welcoming, casual ambiance, making it a good choice for both lunch and dinner.
The restaurant has the air of a cosy, if a little tired, café, with wicker chairs, black and white shots of Thai countryside and multilevel seating, allowing diners privacy even when the place is packed – as it regularly is. Fortunately, the staff seem used to this and don’t forget about you.
Wash things down with a pot of zinging ginger tea and you can kid yourself that you just enjoyed a healthy feed – while ignoring your achingly satisfied stomach.
