From Time Out Dubai Eating Out 2009
Upon entering The Grill Room, you could be forgiven for thinking you’ve stumbled onto the set of a dinner scene in Friends. The yellow-stone brick walls, wooden furniture and blingtastic gold placemats all feel very ‘90s America, but provided you’re not a stickler for up-to-the-minute style, are inoffensive, and make the place welcoming and cosy.
As the moniker suggests, the name of the Grill Room’s game is meat, and lots of it – in fact, the variety of steaks on offer is positively mind-boggling. But before you get to the main course, go for a light scallop salad – the meaty little crustaceans won’t let you down.
We’d recommend the blackened Angus steak afterwards: though it’s a little arduous to hack into, it’s perfectly tender inside and comes daubed with a sauce so rich it’s like a slightly viscous river of heaven.
