From Time Out Dubai Eating Out 2009
A pretty pricey place this, but the steaks are great quality, if not quite up to what you’d expect for the dirhams. The cavernous interior, all high ceilings and wooden floors, somewhat kills the ambience – fellow diners’ conversations bounce off the walls and create more of a irksome din than an atmospheric hubbub – and service can be slow.
But, once a waiter notices you chewing the table cloth and frantically trying to make eye contact, they are generally eager to please and reliably knowledgeable about the menu. Steaks on offer range from Aberdeen Angus to cuts from New Zealand, but it’s the Australian wagyu that stands out. Try the rib eye for a truly sumptuous, juicy flavour. Elsewhere on the menu are burgers, chicken and fish, and there’s something for everyone among the starters.
Wagyu beef empanadas are soft and flavoursome, and the oysters are a good bet if you feel decadent – they taste of the sea (in a good way, not a salt-water-up-your-nostrils way). An enjoyable dining experience, but you are still likely to baulk at the bill.
