Located in the Al Bustan Rotana, near Dubai Airport, Rodeo Grill screams business traveller. However, the staff are effortlessly helpful, while the menu is varied enough to warrant a thorough browse, but not so vast that you’d fear a microwave conspiracy if your order arrived too soon.

For starters, the crab cakes are some of the best Time Out has tasted, and the prawns are juicy, but sparse, despite claims of being a ‘jumbo’ platter. For mains, a grade nine wagyu beef steak is as tempting an offer as any meat lover can get. Quite rightly too, as expectations should be high given the Dhs400 price tag. But sadly, it still feels overpriced.

The seafood platter, though, is delicious. The lobster is meaty and flavoursome, the hammour with lemon butter dreamy.This spot is definitely worth a trip if you’re in the Garhoud ’hood and it’s just past pay day.
