Thai Bistro
Romantic Thai on Beach Road 1 Reviews
From Time Out Dubai Eating Out 2009
If there’s one thing you need to know about Thai Bistro, it’s to be sure to eat outside. There, you have the ambiance and clamour of the dozens of clubs, bars and restaurants of the time-tested Dubai Marine complex, and you have the calming and romantic views of the lawns and the resort’s pool.
Inside, you have the look and feel of a Swedish log cabin. The food, however, is decent whether eaten inside or out. It’s served in generous, but not gluttonous, portions, from a lengthy menu with plenty of Thai staples for the vegetarian and carnivore alike (the green curry, presented in a bubbling pot, is guaranteed to gratify.
Service, meanwhile, is swift and good humoured – though they might mock shock when you haven’t made a booking, they’ll do their best to sort an alfresco table in one of the best spots. Desserts aren’t to be screamed about – but by this point you’ll no doubt be feeling the pull of one of the heaving venues drawing crowds around you.
