From Time Out Dubai Eating Out 2009
For a place that seems so Arabic, with its tents and lanterns and piped-in oud music, it is surprising to see a joint of beef swimming in barbecue sauce and a chicken stir fry on the Dhs180 buffet at Ewaan.
Still, while the food might seem a little confused, it is consistently tasty. Feast on the exhaustive selections of cold mezze (particularly the rough and punchy mutabbal) while gaping up at the Burj Dubai. Mains on the buffet tend to be very good; heap on the slightly fatty beef and the impressive seafood biryani, which is cooked perfectly, with each and every prawn a mouth-watering morsel of pure taste.
Finish up by raiding the exceptional dessert station, and retire on one of the peaceful tents out back, with curtains for privacy.
