Directly opposite the Ibrahim Al Khalil mosque on Rolla Road, it’s not hard to guess the specialty at Caspian Special Kabab. The menu at this Persian eatery reads like a carnivore’s dream: minced kebab, sultani kebab, bakhtiari kebab and even chicken tikka kebab.
You can rest assured the folk here know how to cook their meat, dishing up large skewers of succulent morsels with an assortment of plump tomatoes, fries and vegetables or rice – at around Dhs25 a portion. Though it’s a fairly small restaurant, there’s a salad buffet so you can top up with yoghurt, fresh mint and cucumber, along with fresh juices or a creamy glass of Caspian Special buttermilk.
You will eat your meal watching pedestrians pounding the pavements of Rolla Road, with large windows and even a family room set to one side if you want some privacy. The service is friendly and waiters are a personable bunch; though some might have trouble tearing their eyes away from the football playing on the wall-mounted TV.
