There’s something ineffably magical about creekside dining: the experience of kicking back with some food as abras and dhows chug along the waterway ranking as one of Dubai’s ‘must-do’ activities. And when it comes to al fresco eats, few places entice with the same panache as The Boardwalk, which affords patrons an unforgettable vista from its wooden terrace.

It’s a shame then, that the food rarely matches up to the splendid location. There have been some signs of positive evolution in recent times – dishes having moved up a notch from disastrous to desultory – but the overall picture on the culinary front remains disappointingly ordinary.

A plate of fish and chips is passable, but the fish comes swathed in an overly generous coating of batter. A chicken caesar salad is equally ordinary, but the burgers represent a safer bet, with sizeable patties being complemented well by a good range of fresh garnishes.

Despite all the quibbles, its prime spot means The Boardwalk is still well worth a visit.

Boardwalk restaurant being such a lovely place, and great location. Then getting such bad service and less than average food. 10 min after being seated i had to go and ask for someone to come and take our drink order. Our waiter was not paying attention he was looking around to do something else and obviously not trained to help customers, the manager (?) was literally running between the tables. All together a bad experience.

It is a great place to spend an evening/night with love ones or friends along with wonderful food and wine..
amazing view in the heart of Dubai and wonderful environment..
Highly recommended either if you are resident or visitor

I would definitely come back for its romantic setting. But wont count on food that much.
Service is fine and just FYI, they don't acknowledge TIME OUT City card of 15%. And we visited last night.

Red wine Rioja was over chilled- never had such bad wine. Main Food ,prawn basket and seafood a la plancha came cold and dry-don't understand why. now i know why we can get tables on weekends-very poorly cooked meal. the location deserves much better food! Extra chilled beer was great though

Paid a visit on the 30th August for a set menu dinner. Started off with a glass of white wine. Bread with hummous, butter and ?balsamic vinegar served. It took no less than 45 mins. wait and couple of enquiries before I got my hands on the pecan chicken. Well presented but lacked taste. One could choose from the dessert and I opted for the sizzling brownie.
2 course meal(Dhs 85) and a glass of wine/beer costs Dhs 103.
3 course meal (Dhs 95) and with a glass of beverage costs Dhs 113.

This place is more suited for enjoying sundowners with time to kill while enjoying the view across the creek.

place is wonderful, amazing view, romantic sight really
the food is disapointed, it should be a continental cuisine but pracically speaking, it's more indian or pakistani from point of view taste and spices
i think by this view and atmosphere it shoud be better!!!

A fabulous place to dine by the creek in Dubai. I have had many a fine meal in this restaurant and is one of Dubai's better al fresco dining experieces
