The Dhow bobs about on the Mina Seyahi’s marina, allowing for a different hotel dining experience. Stiff white tablecloths and electro-chillout music help set the scene for a romantic night, while the interior of the ship itself, with its highly polished wood and boxy windows, allows diners to take in the spectacular views surrounding them: the Palm on one side and Dubai’s skyline on the other.
After all, it seems that is what you’re paying for, as the food is good, but not exceptional – classic mussel pots and the catch of the day cooked to your specifications are ample and tasty, but aren’t prepared with the flair you can find in similarly priced restaurants elsewhere in the city.
If your wallet is happy to stretch to that compromise, it’s a thoroughly pleasant night out.
