Amaseena
Eat in the Arabian tents of the Ritz-Carlton Discuss this article
From Time Out Dubai Eating Out 2009
While a buffet might not seem to justify prices as absurdly high as this, Amaseena still boasts one of the most romantic locations and dining experiences in the city. Sprawl out beneath Arabic-style tents, metres from the Ritz’s manicured beachfront, and feast on a wealth of good, if slightly predictable, Lebanese dishes.
The rich, creamy labneh is exceptional, combined with a healthy stack of halloumi and a handful of fattoush salad – restraint is advised on heaping food onto your starter plate as the main course selections are equally delectable. Aside lightly oiled, grilled shrimps the size of a fist, tear into tender lamb chops and a heap of tasty roasted vegetables.
Service is warm and measures have been taken to jettison a hotel restaurant atmosphere. The price and the buffet-ness of Amaseena might not do it for most, but, if you’re willing to splurge and fancy an outdoor spot at the height of cosiness, then this is it.
