From Time Out Dubai Eating Out 2009
If you can handle the sight of reddening tourists splayed out around the pool below, we highly recommend grabbing a balcony seat at this popular restaurant. The relaxed environment is offset by ever-so-slightly snippy service, but you will come away impressed by the decent mezze entrée and tasty grilled mains.
Evening eating is entirely set menu, with a selection of hot and cold mezze followed by a grill and dessert for a fine Dhs220, but the lunchtime a la carte is definitely worth bearing in mind. Stick with a plate of houmous and go for the fattoush salad.
The stuffed grapevine leaves are a little sloppy and the labneh is nothing too special, but you will be bowled over by the kafta kheshkash – grilled minced lamb set in an especially lip-smacking tomato sauce. The mixed grill doesn’t look too great, but the meat is darn succulent and the juicy cuts of lamb do the job.
You always get the right feeling walking into any Levant diner packed with locals and Lebanese families – this one does not disappoint.
