From Time Out Dubai Eating Out 2007

Most visitors to the Regent Palace Hotel’s seafood restaurant take advantage of the daily all-you-can-eat promotion, which comes with unlimited alcoholic drinks. It’s a great value deal. Staff are charming and helpful, the decor is pleasant – with teeming aquaria, hanging plants and intricate carvings to the iced stalls of the market – and the food is perfectly good.

The seafood soup, however, isn’t great, with a single unspectacular king prawn surrounded by rubbery strips of squid in a coriander-swamped sauce. A better bet is the trio of tiger prawns, each cooked with an individual twist. The tempura prawn is delightfully crispy on the outside, yet soft and juicy within; the grilled prawn with lemon, butter and garlic sauce is tangy but never too tart; and the chilli prawn with mangetout is as fiery as an angry ogre who has recently given up smoking. Move onto softly steamed clams in lemon butter sauce and sample the mussels, baked in creamy mayonnaise under crispy melted cheese.

Then tuck into a bevy of deep-fried sardines, which are as long as diving knives, and a portion of baby hammour, which is expertly filleted and grilled to crispy perfection. Continue your eating spree with the seafood fried rice, peppered liberally with chunks of prawn and squid among the golden grains, and end with luxuriantly doughy chocolate ice cream for dessert. With such attractive all-inclusive packages, Fareast is a great choice for large groups.

This is the worst experience I have had in any restaurant. The srvice was terrible. It took the waitresses one hour to serve our soup (it was an open buffet so the soup should have been relatively ready). The table next to ours used to have people dining there. The empty plates of food remained on the table throughout our dinner and the table was never cleared. The waitresses were too busy catering to and joking with a single table whose occupants were of the same nationality and all other tables were ignored. From the comments of the neighboring tables, we were not the only disgruntled customers.

i hated this place..i have to agree tht they trick u into beliving u can eat all u can but once u go there,order and eat is a different story,and god bless when the menu arrives.
am never gon go there again.

I came for my husband birthday.
When I called for booking, they told me we can all eat unlimitied for 111dhs or 177dhs including alchol ( beer, white and red wine, vodka...etc)
I thought it was very good value, so I booked.

We arrived at the restaurant.
Actually, for 177dhs we have only bottle of house wine which is VERY BAD, and If we choose the beer we have go only for the beer, If we choose for the wine, we have go only for the wine.
So I was disspointed cause that was'nt what they explaind on the phone. Anyway We took one bottle of white wine for me and vodka for my husband. 177dhs each.

After we took sashimi, scalop,fish,prawn....
Food was not bad.and they brought birthday cake for my husband.
it was kind.
But at the end I ask the bill. WHAT HAPPEND !!
I was so upset because They charge sashimi and sclaop.
They just told us this menu is not including 'All you can eat '
When we started to choosing our meal , they explained we can take everything, unlimited. They didn't inform anything about sashimi before. so we paid 200dhs extra. It was really not nice.

They really need to change their promotion menu to make clear.
we were so disspointed.. We'll never, ever go back again.

The restaurant opens at 7pm, I came in with my family at 7:30pm.
My first impression - very old and sleepy place.
Waiters clearly failed in their communication skills.
Service was VERY BAD as it took them more than 2 hrs to serve our food, which was NOT THAT GOOD. Our conclusion was that we've overpaid for late and bad service of food.

Staff were excellent and the food was delightful. I was amazed as to the options we had. We have recommended this place to everyone - the feedback has been very positive

This was one of the most enjoyable meals I have had in Dubai. Excellent value for money, ate like a queen. Excellent selection of fish. Staff all very friendly and attentive. Will def be going back.

We went here for my husband's birthday. Made a reservation and after some time they called me back to check if i would like some bday cake. Good idea since I haven't thought of that. I am surprised that they are giving the vanilla flavored cake as complimentary.

Real value for money for AED 111 per pax, eat all you can. My family are joking that after all the seafoods we've eaten that night, it would take 6 months before we will try eating seafoods again.

Service is very good and fast, though we were one of the early customers(we arrived at 07:30PM). Around 9PM, I heard some of the guests complaining that their food takes too long to be served. So I think better to be there early.

Overall, we will definitely be back..

one of the best meals out that I've had since coming to Dubai. Friendly and efficient service and wonderful, fresh seafood. Shame it was so quiet when we went as it definitely deserves to be busier. We will definitely be back.
