The food is mostly not up to scratch here. The buffalo wings and prawn fritos are more than adequate, but give the plain ranch steak a miss. Meanwhile, the cheese quesadilla is a crisp flour tortilla wrap filled with melted cheese, spring onions, chopped tomatoes and jalapenos, and the guacamole and sour cream that come with nearly everything liven it up a little.
The potato skins are more jacket than flesh and come saturated in cheese, while the vegetable fillings (chopped courgettes, mushrooms, peppers and carrots) are almost non-descript. In keeping with the adage that the best things in life are free, the spicy salsa with fresh tomatoes is excellent – so good that you’ll scoop it up and scoff an entire basket of corn chips.
This is the sort of place that someone with no idea about good food would suggest as a pre-clubbing dinner stop.
