Noodle House
Popular noodle chain comes to Sheikh Zayed Road Discuss this article
From Time Out Dubai Eating Out 2007
Few restaurants can claim such a loyal following. Turn up to any of the branches of The Noodle House for lunch or dinner, and there’s a good chance you’ll have to wait for a seat. There are simple reasons for this – the food is reliably good, service is cheery, the atmosphere is buzzing, and prices are very reasonable. The starters – most of which are deep-fried – are the weakest link on this menu.
The crispy duck wontons are loaded with succulent meat but the crusty shells overpower the gamey flavour, and the crystal shrimp dumplings are rather plain. The Indonesian bakmi goreng is excellent though, with cords of thick rice noodles wrapping themselves around pieces of chicken and small prawns and through a sweet, garlicky sauce. The Schezuan spiced beef, with chillies, onion and stripes of tender meat, is another excellent dish. Skip the unremarkable puddings and head instead to The Noodle House’s huge list of ice cream-based non-alcoholic cocktails. A great bet for a quick eat.
