The homely aromas of baking are piped to the front of the shop to draw in passing trade. Mrs Fields is an American franchise outlet producing fresh cookies, brownies and muffins. Also on the menu are sandwiches, salads, ice cream and drinks. Our cheese and salad filled croissant (Dhs18) was less crisp than we would have liked, but still tasty and the little pot of coleslaw and bag of crisps that we found included were an added bonus. The blueberry muffin (Dhs8) was laden with succulent berries. Our ‘four cookies for the price of three’ (Dhs20) in a variety of chocolate chip and nut flavours were crisp outside with a slightly chewy centre. Neither chocolate drops nor sugar are used in moderation in the cookies, making them appealing to the sweetest of palates. The fresh fruit juices (Dhs12) were also heavily sweetened with sugar syrup.
