Summer has a very sincere relationship with white T-shirts. You can never really go wrong with one. Paired with cool blue denim cut-offs or a midi-skirt, this ubiquitous cotton garment is a classic. So when Hollywood’s favourite tee designer Marco Bacini decided to open his first pop-up in Dubai, we ran to the checkout counter.
Rude is Cool Milano is a brand that doesn’t shy away from breaking the rules of graphic design. You’ll find T-shirts here printed with a doberman flaunting sunglasses and a vintage Marilyn Monroe holding onto a Lakers basketball jersey. The shelves are packed with such eclectic and unique designs, however, unlike its brand name, there’s nothing rude about them. “The name came as a joke,” Bacini tells Time Out Dubai. Rude in Italian and English means the same thing… so we just wanted to be a little cheeky with the name and get people talking.”
You won’t miss this bright yellow container, comfortably parked between Toms and Classic Car Café at BoxPark on Al Wasl Road. A regular to Dubai, Bacini is planning to launch a bricks and mortar store in the city soon. “Coming to Dubai is a no-brainer,” he says. What do you wear here when it’s 50°C outside? T-shirts, right? And that’s all you’ll get at RiC Milano. T-shirts with very loud personalities.” You heard it.
