It’s not often we find ourselves asking the question “what would Carrie Bradshaw do?” But with the opening of the luxurious Shoe Box in Galeries Lafayette, we can’t help but wonder, what in the world would Ms Bradshaw do? Remember when the overly zealous journalist couldn’t even afford to pay her rent because she spent all her money on designer shoes?
Well, turns out, that’s soon going to be our nightmare (dream?) as well, thanks to this contemporary new space, exclusively dedicated to shoes. Have we got your attention yet?
Okay, good. This new shoe haven replaces the previous one located on the ground floor of the department store, and is home to more than 400 pairs from 65 high-end and luxurious brands.
Unique to Galeries Lafayette in The Dubai Mall, this 500-square-metre space houses Burberry, Karl Lagerfeld, Kenzo, Casadei, Fratelli Rossetti, Tom’s, Nike, Converse and Adidas. Shoe Box is also the launch pad for local style blogger, Nadya Hasan’s debut collection.
The blogger-turned-designer’s shoes are inspired by the roaring ’20s and adhere to an androgynous colour palette.
The glass interiors of this cool, modern store are nicely juxtaposed with the leather handbags and footwear that surround. We bet even Carrie didn’t see this one coming…
