This week: A new Arab store, mums start a new market plus Antipodium threads land.
If you’re a sucker for Arabic-inspired homewares and décor, you’ll want to check out a new concept store setting tongues wagging on Jumeirah Beach Road. Iris Noir (04 338 9378) sells furniture, art, fashion, accessories and homewares and is a platform for local and international artists. It sits opposite Jumeirah Beach Hotel in a villa and stocks labels including Tamer Khalifa, Ahmed Ismail, Shady Chamoin, Rita Grahm and Shahira Serry.
Meanwhile, the minds behind Dubai Flea Market and young designer market Prime Fashion Dubai have launched a new initiative for mums running their own business from home. Prime Dubai Mumtrepreneurs (www.prime-dubai.com) takes place once a month at Zabeel Park and allows mothers to show their ideas, designs, handicrafts and services to like-minded folk.
Lastly, edgy online local boutique Bullets & Butterflies (www.bulletsbutterflies.com) is now stocking cool East London label Antipodium. Creative director Geoffrey J Finch words it as, ‘Confident simplicity, subverted classics and a hint of kink.’ We couldn’t put it better ourselves.
