UAE’s largest car boot sale launches at Global Village
Buy and sell second-hand goodies every Friday
Get ready to start haggling, because the largest car boot sale in the country has been launched at Global Village.
That’s right, you can now drive up to one of the city’s top leisure destinations (where you can buy lots of knick-knacks and goodies from around the world), with a boot full of stuff you want to get rid of, park up and get going.
Every Friday at parking lot A between 1pm and 5pm, you can head along and start selling, where renting a spot will cost you just Dhs150 (far cheaper than some of the city’s longer-standing second-hand markets). So stock up the car with all of those old books, toys, clothes and any other sort of jumble.
It won’t just be about second-hand bits and bobs though, no, at the Global Village car boot sale you’ll also find traders selling handmade crafts, toys, sweets, collectables, clothes and more. There is a children’s entertainment area that will keep the little ones busy with face-painting, games, a petting zoo, a soft play area as well as refreshment stands and more.
Just be sure to book your spot in advance if you want to flog some stuff, head to www.thecarbootsale.ae to book your place.
“My father was an avid bargain hunter and took us to many auctions, factory outlets and of course car boot sales throughout our childhood,” said Rob Newbould, founder of The Car Boot Sale. “I’ve been in Dubai for the past seven and half years during which time I had never come across a car boot sale. It seemed like the obvious type of market to have here taking into account Dubai’s transient population coupled with a dominant housing rental market. People of all nationalities relocate both locally and internationally on a regular basis.”
So, that’s Friday sorted then.
Dhs150 (for traders). Fri 1pm-5pm. Ongoing. Global Village, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road, www.thecarbootsale.ae
