It’s hard to imagine what VV & Sons was like when its first store opened in Dubai nearly 50 years ago, but now it’s the place for the serious audiophile. A vast range of speakers is displayed at the back of the store, with all manner of stands and purposes in mind, from outdoor gigs to indoor theatre. Upstairs there’s a selection of high-quality DVD players and amplifiers for heavy-duty home cinema. In terms of names, lesser-known brands such as Jamo and Sherwood sit next to international favourites like JBL. Turntables, mixers and professional DJ sound equipment are not stocked in the shop but can be ordered.
