SoundsME describes itself as a maverick company, and while it’s certainly got that cool feel to it, it’s anything but wayward. The first SoundsME concept store in the Mall of the Emirates heralds a new age of retail for visual and audio electronics. The small showroom housed inside Virgin Megastore is best described as an ‘optimal exhibition environment’ rather than a ‘store’.
One room boasts wall-to-wall plasma LCD screens, while the neighbouring glass-encased space provides optimal acoustics, showing off the impressive collection of surround and suspended speaker systems and subwoofer to maximum ear-assaulting effect. SoundsME is the sole affiliate and distributor of Danish sound wizards Artcoustic, producers of top-of-the-range audio technology, and this is the first of many concept stores in the Middle East.
SoundsME also deals in plasma perfection and multimedia magic, courtesy of KISS and French digital technology boffins, Archos, producers of the latest must-have gadgets like portable DVD recorders with enough memory to store over 250 films.
