It’s easy to be underwhelmed by Dubai’s only Thai supermarket – large parts of the shop look like any other grocery in the city. But look a little closer and you’ll find all you need to prepare your own Thai masterpieces: kaffir lime leaves, lemongrass, baby aubergines and plenty of chili. And if you can’t be bothered to do the hard work yourself, Baitong restaurant next door will whip you up a decent Thai meal for around Dhs25.
