Founded last year by Zack Roy, the son of the man who brought Fitness First to the Middle East, this huge Al Quoz venue could well be Dubai’s biggest gym, weighing in at a massive 42,000 square metres.
It is also a pretty unique concept in that it prides itself on giving personal trainers the chance to rent large work spaces in which to give their clients all the attention they need.
Train houses 16 rentable training rooms, three private personal training rooms (of 65 square metres each), three assessment rooms, an MMA room complete with full-sized boxing ring, and a unique posing room for bodybuilders (that’s right, a room where it’s actually okay to pose in the gym). In addition to all of this, the facility has a café, stretch zone, group cycle rooms, a power room for weights and four gym suites that contain a treadmill, dumbbell bench, foam rollers and medicine balls.
Roy told us before the grand opening in December: “I noticed a lot of the apartment gyms in the city are run down or that PTs aren’t allowed to train clients there. We don’t want to be like some franchise gyms, where they don’t give back to trainers. We allow the PTs to grow themselves as much as they want to.”
While the gym is designed with trainers in mind, members who come to work out are also well catered for, with long contracts not being forced upon them.
