The course: Designed by and named after golfing hall of famer Colin Montgomerie, the most decorated British golfer of all time, this course is one of the region’s most popular. The 7,461 yards and par 72 are deceptively difficult and repeat plays of the same course will uncover new challenges. There are 14 lakes and 81 bunkers to negotiate and it is known for having some of the trickiest greens in the country. Immaculately kept and, above all, fun, a round here is a must for fans. The 18th hole, a 656-yard beast, offers some of the finer links play in the country and has been a test for many as they decide whether to lay up before the water or go for glory.
Other facilities: The course is managed by world-famous golfing brand Troon and has an excellent teaching facility and staff. Coaches use state-of-the-art technology to monitor players and give suggestions. There is an academy course as well as floodlit training areas, but best of all is the TruGolf simulator, which lets you play 86 world-class courses from around the globe, indoors in Dubai.
