The course: Two courses of a planned four are open for golf and both were designed by golfing legend Greg Norman. “Earth” is inspired by parkland courses in Europe and North America and on Thursday November 19 to Sunday 22, it will be host to the DP World Tour Championship, when the best players in the world compete on the final leg of the European Tour. The last four holes are described by Norman as “the toughest mile in golf” and have a meandering creek running all the way along. The Fire Course, although not hosting major stars, is well thought out and made challenging by the undulating fairways and tough greens.
Other facilities: The 130,000 sq ft clubhouse is simply enormous and you can't help but enhance your game at the European Tour Performance Institute. It has swing studios, a putting lab, physiotherapy rooms and high-performance video technology equipment, as well as the usual putting rooms, driving range and short game practise areas.
Celebrate a hole in one at: Swirl Bar. A low-key area and a terrace overlooking the 18th hole.
18 holes at the Earth Course: Dhs995 (daily); Fire Course: Dhs755 (Sun-Thu), Dhs895 (Fri-Sat).
