It's that time of year again. The Dubai World Tennis Championships land in February and they're better than ever. The Barclays Dubai Tennis Championships 2010 is offering an all-star field for its forthcoming anniversary tournament. The Championships, which begins with the Women’s Open on 14th February, will field a remarkable 10 out of the top 10 women’s players in the world at the Dubai Tennis Stadium.
And at least seven of the top 10 men’s players will be in action for the ATP tournament at the same venue the following week.
The Championships, which comprises the only ATP 500 and WTA Premier 5 tournaments in the United Arab Emirates, will parade a sensational lineup. This includes both men’s and women’s defending champions Novak Djokovic and Venus Williams, as well as four-time Champion Roger Federer.
The lineup is made all the more special due to the fact the tournament is celebrating a milestone year– the 18th anniversary of the Men’s Open and 10th anniversary of the Women’s Open.
Grandstand tickets for this star-studded spectacle are on sale from Sunday, January 10th at 10:00am here at Time Out Tickets (www.timeouttickets.com or by calling 8004669). Fans can also purchase their tickets from the Dubai Tennis Stadium Box Office in Garhoud. Tickets range in price from 30 AED for Day One of both tournaments to 200 AED for Finals Days.
The Championships comprises the only ATP 500 and WTA Premier 5 sanctioned tournaments in the Middle East. The elite status makes Dubai not only the most highly-regarded tennis tournament in the region, but one of the most prestigious events on both the ATP and WTA Tour calendars, with a total prize money of US $4 million up for grabs to the winners this year.
Play at the Barclays Dubai Tennis Championships, which is held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, begins on Sunday, February 14th, 2010 with the WTA Tour event and continues with the ATP tournament from Monday, February 22nd – 27th.
