Al Ghaffal Traditional 60ft Dhow Race 2013 Traditional sailing dhows take to the seas in the return of this annual race, which commemorates the pearl divers who played a big part in Dubai’s early trading history. Around 100 boats take part, with approximately 3,000 participants. The race begins at the island of Sir Bu Nair, located 65 kilometres off the coast of Sharjah, and finishes at Mina Seyahi. Play Ultimate Frisbee Organised by DUPA (Dubai Ultimate Players Association), there’s a recreational pickup game played every Saturday afternoon on the beach in JBR, playing five on five.
