Dedicated fan zones popping up at McGettigan’s for 2017’s New Zealand tour
To get in to the proper spirit of the British and Irish Lions’ tour of New Zealand this summer, legendary Irish pub McGettigan’s has opened up the Lion’s Den Fanzone across its entire chain.
Showing every game of the ten-match tour, McGettigan’s is offering up dedicated screens, deals, competitions and a special menu. The Lions only tour once every four years, so the Irish pub is going all out.
Grab yourself a free drink for every Lions match if you pop down to McGettigan’s in the week leading up to the first warm-up match on Saturday June 3. Meanwhile, get hold of one of two Lions-themed burgers and a pint of the black stuff for Dhs99, or enjoy an eight-hour happy hour between noon and 8pm between Saturday and Thursday with drinks starting from just Dhs20.
Given that New Zealand is eight hours ahead of Dubai, some games are going to be shown at less-than-sociable hours, so McGettigan’s is also showing full re-runs of matches at peak times, as well as the live match in as many of its chains as possible. From Friday May 26 until Saturday June 24, McGettigan’s at DWTC will be closed during the day, so any matches due to kick off earlier will get a full match replay in the evening instead. McGettigan’s at JLT and Souk Madinat will remain open.
So head down to McGettigan’s for all your rugby needs during the 2017 Lions tour. Although if you’re Kiwi, Nezesaussi is probably more your kind of vibe.
