XDubai, the extreme sports specialists who get up to some hair-raising activities, have released more stats about this brilliant new extreme sport destination, which will run from the top of one of the Amwaj towers in JBR across the Marina and over to the roof of the Dubai Marina Mall Terrace.
XLine follows in the footsteps of the line which opened for a limited-time run at The Dubai Mall back in late 2015, swooping over the Dubai Fountain. The new XLine is double the length of the original, measuring a whopping 1km long, where thrill seekers will travel at an average speed of 80kph at an incline of 16 degrees.
The team behind the zip wire, XDubai claim this is the world’s longest urban zip line, which also soars 170 meters above the Dubai Marina below.
His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai teased the zip wire on his Instagram account, before being the city’s first to experience the new attraction.
Bookings will soon be open to the general public for bookings. Prices start at Dhs650 per person or Dhs1,200 per couple, and everyone who hits the zip will also get a personalised video after the fact thanks to a helmet-mounted GoPro. You’ll also get a bunch of photos from your experience.
“We wouldn’t be XDubai if we didn’t push the limites of what is possible,” said Mohammed Javad, general manager of XDubai. “Following the success of the first XLine, we wanted to step it up more than a notch and importantly, give both residents and visitors to Dubai the opportunity to have a true-to-form XDubai experience. The result is like nothing else – two zip lines - the world’s longest in an urban setting, in one of the world’s most vibrant neighbourhoods.”
We can’t wait for this to open up now, and tickets will soon be available to purchase on Platinum List. We’ll keep you updated on when tickets are available.
