Barasti’s usual events are on hold for the summer, but with good reason: the forthcoming football World Cup 1 Reviews
Barasti’s usual events are on hold for the summer, but with good reason: the forthcoming football World Cup. What better excuse to build an enormous mega-dome on the beach? This huge structure will house all of Barasti’s football-related celebrations, with matches screened live throughout the tournament.
So just how big is this mammoth tent? With a circumference of 35 metres and measuring 17.5 metres tall, the creation is a semi-sphere that reaches more than five storeys high. And with a capacity of 1,200 people, it’ll be plenty big enough to house the footie celebrations – the mix of nationalities in Dubai should make for some good-natured friendly rivalry.
When choosing a venue to watch the football, one of the most important considerations is whether you’ll get an uninterrupted view of the TV. Luckily, Barasti has thought of that too – the screen inside is a whopping 12 metres wide (it’s apparently the equivalent of watching an area the size of 100 normal TVs). Add to this a 270-tonne AC unit and the venue is shaping up to be the coolest (and heaviest) place to catch the action from South Africa.
The one caveat? You‘ll have to get in there quick – although entry is free, we can see this venue proving very popular indeed, particularly for key matches.
Time Out Dubai,
