Hotel Acta Del Carmen: A budget, boutique hotel in Valencia’s old town, it’s close to the Botanic Gardens and the amazing Micalet cathedral. Rooms have been decorated in a modern, kooky style that make staying here fun.

Luxury
The Westin: Residing in a city centre 1917 modernist building, The Westin is sleek and sumptuous luxury that sees the city on your doorstep. The in-house spa is second to none and includes a colour therapy shower and hammam.

Spanish food is all about the tapas, sharing small dishes together. Take a wander down the streets round the medieval Barrio del Carmen and you’ll trip over plenty of cheap bars and cafes offering fresh paella and tapas, bread and aioli.
Expensive
La Sucursal: Michelin-starred La Sucursal is an absolute treat. Hidden within the Modern Art gallery, it conjures up modern seafood with heady grapes. Check out the actual gallery, it’s equally impressive.
Guillen de castro 118, 46003 Valencia.
Must see...
The Valencia Opera House and Museum of Art and Sciences have to be seen to be believed. Stunning, modern white architecture contrasts beautifully next to the medieval old town.

Must do...
The bus tour. Yes, it’s touristy but it’s a fantastic way to see the city and figure out where you want to explore further. It leaves from Plaza de la Reina in the Old City.

Visit in March for the annual, week-long Las Fallas festival with fireworks, parades, huge paper mache figures and of course, the all-night fiestas.

Valencia is a lovely town with exotic beaches, namely the malvarossa beach. It nurtures the old civilization charm along-with modern infrastructure & facilities. The people of Valencia are a friendly lot and you see a lot of family culture prevalent. July & August are the best months to visit being summer. Food for vegetarians & non-vegetarians isnt a problem as tapas offers a variety of both. Valencia has some great night-out spots which I recommend should not be missed.
