Etihad has top July
9% more passengers than the same time last year Discuss this article
The number of passengers travelling with Etihad rose 9 percent in July from the same time last year to 616,000, making it the airline's busiest month ever.
The Abu Dhabi based carrier said its flights were 88 percent full in the period, which saw a 20 percent increase in the number of weekly flights.
"We now look forward to building upon this for the remainder of the summer holiday period and into the Holy Month of Ramadan," said chief executive James Hogan.
New routes to Larnaca in Cyprus, Athens and Istanbul helped boost the July results.
Etihad said it continues to expand its flight network.
