Top four Dubai spots for toddlers

We round up the best places to visit when your kids are the tiniest of tots

Top four Dubai spots for toddlers
Caboodle

Think toddlers only need play areas and ball pits? Think again. There’s so much to the toddler life than tantrums, and these are the venues that get it right every time – well, almost every time (kiddies are unpredictable).

Caboodle
A super cute, colourful venue, that’s bound to impress even the pickiest of tots, Caboodle is one of those multi-purpose spots where the environment is both educational and stimulating – and it’s definitely among mums’ favourites for play dates and mama meet-ups.

The play haven features a mini kids’ salon, a healthy café, interactive areas, crafts, role play and so much more. Following a daily theme, it also hosts musical mum-and-tot classes and an exciting calendar every month filled with activities, games, stories and cartoon sing-alongs.
Dhs70 (first hour), Dhs30 (every additional hour). Open daily 10am-11pm. The Dubai Mall, Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard (04 325 3367).

Cheeky Monkeys
An indoor play area for the cheekiest of monkeys, this interactive soft play favourite features block stations, organised activities and more. The environment is safe and stimulating, designed with toddlers’ hunger for exploration in mind.

Each Cheeky Monkeys location features a small play area for kiddies under the age of four, building zone and life-size play house.Equipment is extensively padded with no sharp edges.
Dhs52.5 (first hour), Dhs84 (two hours), Dhs105 (three hours). Timings vary. Various locations including Barsha Mall, (04 385 0875).

OliOli
With a name that translates into “joy” in Hawaiian, this kids’ museum is all about those tiny giggles. Built around hands-on activities that nurture curiosity, imagination and exploration, OliOli has eight galleries and over 40 interactive exhibits spread over two floors.

Each space features artistic, innovative concepts that create a one-of-its-kind play experience. Highlights of the space include the Toshi’s Net “textile playground” and Future Park which was created to inspire kids’ ingenuity and technology-related skills.
Free (kids aged zero to 11), from Dhs60 (kids aged one to 23 months old), from Dhs120 (kids aged two to 18 years old). Open Sun-Wed 9am-7pm, Thu-Fri 9am-9pm, Sat 9am-7pm. Al Quoz 1 (04 702 7300).

Splashers Island and Mountain at Atlantis The Palm
Little ones who love splashing about can steer clear of the big kids’ water pistols at Atlantis The Palm and head to Splashers Island, a massive play area that features 20 attractions. There’s also a giant dry-play structure in the shape of a Dhow shipwreck for those who don’t want to get soaked. Plus, the KIDZ Tornado and KIDZ Bowl, exact replicas of the popular Aquaventure adult slides, but for kids.

Located next to the island is Splashers Mountain, a playground featuring elaborate water games, slides and structures, also comprising two enormous tipping buckets that release 1,400 litres of water at various intervals and rope bridges as well as slides and jets. Best of all, the fun at Splashers is suitable for kiddies 1.20m tall and under.
Dhs220 (per adult), Dhs170 (kids). Open daily 10am-sunset. The Palm Jumeirah (04 426 2000).
