1 Deira City Centre Mall: There are plenty of bargains to be had at this mall, with Forever 21, Promod and many other high-street names on offer. Carrefour is the place to go for weekly groceries, or, if you get tired of all the shopping, you can always have a meal at one of the restaurants and catch a movie at the Cinestar cinema.

2 Noodle House: It’s a bit quiet in this part of the Deira City Centre mall: once the Bin Hendi Avenue, The Noodle House is one of the only places left open, but it is still as busy as ever. There are simple reasons for this: the food is reliably good, service is cheery, the atmosphere is buzzing and prices are reasonable.

3 Sofitel Hotel: On the first floor of Deira City Centre, you can find an entrance to Sofitel Hotel, home to the English theme bar – Churchill’s. Feel like you’re in London and kick back with a drink in front of the big screen. You can also grab a quick snack as it offers fish ‘n’ chips, soups, roast dinners and some basic salads. If your tastes are more varied, try La Cite, Sofitel’s international restaurant.
